Jane Addams Urban Garden Collaboration
Description
CSU/APA members and Jane Addams High School students, worked together to continue the rejuvenation of the garden at their school. The Key Club at Jane Addams raised funds for mulch, plants, and tools. CSU/APA provided gravel. The students worked hard for the majority of the day spreading mulch and gravel, pulling weeds, trimming branches, and planting flowers. To end the day, The Key Club hoisted an American flag, that the group had purchased, on the school flagpole. The pole has not flown a flag for many years. Principal Brenda Washington had the pole repaired and Key Club purchased the flag and has taken the responisibility to have the flag raised and removed each day.
